Breastfeeding Educator and DoulaTaryn is a mother, breastfeeding educator and doula. Taryn's journey into the birth world began back in 2009 after the birth of her third child. Friends had heard her birth stories and began to ask questions that pushed her to start researching birth. Every question Taryn found an answer to opened up a whole new set of questions to ask.
After a short time she found that she was then being invited to attend the births of friends to help support them! It quickly became evident that Taryn needed to make her new passion official and attended birth doula classes through CAPPA. It has been a wonderful adventure ever since!
In 2010/11 she had the fantastic opportunity to take a yearlong breastfeeding course. Taryn learned alongside some of the best nurses in our area. It was an amazing time to continue her education of the amazing relationship between mother and child. Also during that time she was breastfeeding her fourth child. It is funny how fate works sometimes. Believe it or not, after nursing a cumulative time of 5 years between her older three children, it was with her fourth that she had numerous breastfeeding struggles.
From firsthand experience Taryn understands how difficult the first few weeks with our new little ones can be. Her goal is to take the fear and unknown out of childbirth and breastfeeding. She supports and celebrates each expectant couple’s journey no matter what it looks like. Birth is as unique and wonderful as the child we are bringing into the world. Through education, families learn how to achieve their own goals and desires.
