What can I do to make sure I get good 3d/4d Ultrasound pictures?
Drinking a lot of water really makes a difference. And not just the day of your ultrasound, it is important that you stay hydrated, pregnant or not but the more hydrated you are the more amniotic fluid you'll have. Having a good amount of amniotic fluid is the key to good 3d/4d pictures. We have had Moms come in right up until their due date for pictures and as long as they have plenty of amniotic fluid their pictures will come out great!

Can you tell sooner the gender of my baby in 3d ultrasound?
No, actually the ultrasound tech can see gender better in 2d, the black and white, just like in your doctor's office. So if you come in for a 3d/4d Ultrasound and want to find out the gender as well, the tech will determine gender in 2d, then switch over to 3d/4d.

How far along should I be before I have a 3d/4d sonogram?
If you plan on having only one session, we recommend having the exam performed between 24 and 32 weeks. However, excellent images can be obtained from 18 to 38 weeks. Many mothers opt for our 2-visit Platinum Plus package to see the baby's growth from the second to the third trimester. For twins, we recommend scans before 30 weeks (22 to 26 weeks for best results with twins.) And we are one of the few ultrasound centers that do not charge extra for multiplies!

Is it safe? Are there any risks to me, or my baby?
Extensive studies over 35 years have found that ultrasound has not been shown to cause any maternal or fetal harm. Routine diagnostic scanning of all pregnancies is now a normal procedure. 3D/4D scans use EXACTLY the same type and intensity of ultrasonic waves as in conventional 2D scan.

Will I always get beautiful 3D pregnancy pictures?
In most cases you will. Sometimes if the baby's position is face down, i.e., towards your spine, it may be difficult to see the baby's face. In this case, a complimentary rescan will be scheduled. However, the scan images may not be similar to those you saw elsewhere or even from our center. Every baby scans differently, depending on the gestational age, position, amount of fluid, placental location and mother's body habitus. However, we promise to make every effort to obtain the best images.

Can I bring family and friends to my ultrasound session?
Yes. In fact, we encourage you to make it a family affair! It’s a great time for the older siblings to be able to have a peek at their new brother or sister! And for the modest Moms, we have a privacy curtain. This is a wonderful and once in a life time experience to see your baby and we never limit the number of guests you want to bring!

Can you determine the gender during 4D baby ultrasound?
Yes, anytime after 15 weeks we can determine the gender of your baby. However, if the baby is uncooperative during the session and we are unable to confirm gender, we schedule a repeat scan for a later date at no charge.

What if I DON'T want to know the gender of my child?
NO PROBLEM!! Many parents think that because this technology creates such clear images, that there is no way to hide the sex. NOT TRUE! We have had many families request that we not determine gender. When this is the wish of our guests, we accommodate with no questions asked. We simply stay away from that area of your child, and focus on other areas, such as face, hands, arms, etc. Just let us know your wishes and we would be happy to hide the gender for you!

How long does the 3D 4D prenatal ultrasound session take?
Depending on the package you choose, the session will last between 10 and 25 minutes. However, we require 5 minutes for paperwork and another 5 to 10 minutes after the scan for printing pictures and formatting the DVDs/CDs.
